Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted Manchester United lacked quality and a creative spark as his side drew 0-0 with Wolves.
It was a drab match with few chances as the Red Devils missed out on a chance to close down the gap on Chelsea in fourth place.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer saw his Man United side draw with Wolves
It is the third time they have faced Wolves this year and Solskjaer welcomed the two-week break until their next match.
He told talkSPORT: As expected really. We dominated possession. We controlled the game but they are very hard to break down Wolverhampton. Weve played them three times in three weeks.
But we havent conceded a goal against them. So we must be hard to break down as well. A game we expected. Two teams that know each other very well.
Im sure we will play them in the Europa League as well. Thats just fate.
Darren Lewis is ‘worried’ for Bruno Fernandes at Manchester United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn’t improve players
Theres tactical elements but we are also now on the end of two months with a relentless run. Weve had 18 games in two months, thats quite a lot. Some of these players have played almost every minute.
I take my hat off to their attitude, character, fitness. Theyve shown their true characters. We lacked a bit of that quality and spark, which is natural.
It is (a welcome break). All the boys will enjoy a few days off and we will start preparing for the last part of the season where we are in with a shout.
We are in two cups and not too far behind fourth, so we will give it a go.
Bruno Fernandes made his Manchester United debut
Bruno Fernandes made his Manchester United debut following his transfer from Sporting Lisbon in the week.
Solskjaer liked what he saw and also explained why he was playing in a deeper role later in the game.
He said: Hes a very good player and we moved him around a little bit. We needed to get him more on the ball and more runs and movement in front of him in the second half.
He showed qualities, which we will enjoy at Man United.
United also added Odion Ighalo on a loan deal until the end of the season and the manager thinks he will give them something they currently miss.
Solskjaer added: Hes a goalscorer, proven goalscorer, striker, physical presence, runs in behind and will be in the box. Sometimes today you lack that little bit of presence and Odion will give us that.
