Odion Ighalo scored twice for Manchester United as his side beat Derby 3-0 to reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
Wayne Rooney did not come back to haunt his old side at Pride Park on Thursday as the Red Devils eased past the Championship club.
Odion Ighalo scored twice for Man United against Derby
Derby started brightly against United as Louie Sibley fired just wide early on.
The visitors struggled to find their early rhythm and Rooney forced a fine save from Sergio Romero.
The goalkeeper turned Rooney’s 25-yard free-kick wide after 18 minutes to keep the match goalless.
Luke Shaw put United ahead after 33 minutes with just his second career goal.
The defender’s volley bounced into the turf and over Kelle Roos for the opener after Derby failed to clear their lines.

Shaw may have to fight teammate Jesse Lingard for the goal, though, as replays suggested it may have clipped the midfielder as it looped over the goalkeeper.
Seven minutes later Ighalo scored his second United goal in his second start to double their lead.
The striker finished low into the corner when he collected Shaw’s pass and held off Craig Forsyth as the visitors took a 2-0 lead into the break.
Like the first half, Derby started the second well and Romero gathered Max Bird’s deflected effort.
Martyn Waghorn also glanced a Jayden Bogle cross inches wide five minutes after the break.

Shaw then came close with a chance for a second goal but his right-footed effort lacked the power to beat Roos.
Ighalo wrapped up the tie with his second of the night in the 70th minute. The striker smashed the ball home at the second attempt after his first effort was blocked by Bogle.
Rooney was again denied a dream goal against his old side in added time as Romero was forced to tip his 25-yard free-kick over the bar.
Man United will go on to face Norwich in the quarter-final of the competition.
