Sassuolo defender Filippo Romagna has gone through a successful surgery but will be out for the next nine months with a knee injury.
The 22-year-old centre-half injured the patellar tendon during a 3-0 win against Brescia on Monday and was operated on Wednesday.
The club has announced that the intervention was successful, but the Cagliari loanee is expected to go through a recovery time of nine months.
After his move to the MAPEI Stadium last summer, the centre-half has played 18 Serie A matches for the Neroverdi and has helped Sassuolo to sit 11th after 25 games in the campaign.
The championship is currently suspended because of the coronavirus outbreak in Italy but Romagna will most likely miss the rest of 2020.
