James Corden has responded after it was revealed that he doesn’t actually drive the car when filming for Carpool Karaoke.
One sneaky fan saw the star recording an episode with Justin Bieber in LA leaving people feeling a bit miffed that all was not as it seems – the pair were filmed with the car being towed around while he was filming for his Late Late Show segment.
The video was posted on Twitter claiming that the 41-year-old British presenter was filming with Justin Bieber. The footage showed the Range Rover on wheels, being towed by a truck.
Replying to the video – which was posted by Twitter user Zoli Honig – fans have expressed their outrage (we’re sure they’re only joking).
Zoli wrote: “Saw James Corden and Justin Bieber filming carpool karaoke and this is why I have trust issues – he isn’t even driving! Next thing you know they gonna tell us that his friends don’t *actually* need a ride.”
In response, someone said: “MY WHOLE LIFE HAS BEEN A LIE,” while another mimicked that saying: ”
Lol my life was a lie. I thought he drivessss.”
With fans voicing their feelings of betrayal all over the internet, Corden hit back at fans and enlisted the help of Samuel L Jackson. It showed them perching on stools, wearing wigs – a clear nod to Jackson’s famous Pulp Fiction scene.
Sharing the photo on Twitter, Corden captioned it: “Guys, we don’t even use a real car.”
Well, I never.
But people are still not having any of it.
One person replied: “No way! I KNEW IT! next thing you know you’re gonna tell me it’s not the actual artists!”
Another said: “This shattered my dreams. it brought me flashbacks of when I was told that Santa was not real #deceived”
A third commented: “Next thing you’re gonna tell us that it isn’t actually you but your secret twin who has been doing the Carpool Karaoke.”
Realistically, have these people actually seen Carpool Karaoke? His eyes are hardly on the road and I bet it would invalidate his insurance if they knew he was filming a TV show while he was driving.
Not everything is always as it seems, lads.
Carpool Karaoke is on The Late Late Show with James Corden, which is shown on CBS in the US.
