The Trump administration is advising that individuals leaving New York should self-quarantine for 14 days to avoid potentially spreading the coronavirus.
Dr. Deborah Birx, a member of the White Houses coronavirus task force, made the recommendation during a press conference as New York’s number of cases rises at a rapid pace. Vice President Pence echoed the recommendation later in the press conference.
Everybody who was in New York should be self-quarantining for the next 14 days to ensure that the virus doesn’t spread to others, no matter where they have gone, whether it’s Florida, North Carolina, or out toLong Island, Birx said during a briefing with reporters.
